Maryland CEC Courses

Criss Presents Maryland CEC Insurance Courses

Rick and Tim Criss of Duraclean Services LLC presented water damage restoration and mold remediation courses to insurance agents on November 5th and 6th, 2008. Held at their facilities in Forest Hill they had 13 agents for the water damage restoration course and 14 for the mold remediation course. The breakdown of the attendees included 12 representing independent insurance carriers, 8 from Nationwide Insurance, 5 from Erie Insurance and 2 from Allstate Insurance. Bill Ondratschek, Duraclean Vice President of Franchise Operations, was in attendance to assist them.

Rick and Tim estimated that they spent $1,800 to hold the classes of which they were reimbursed $350.00 for lunch sponsorship by their local Certified Restoration Drycleaners Network (CRDN) franchisee. The CRDN franchisee was allowed some presentation time in conjunction with the "Specialty Subcontractors" session.
At these courses there was more participation then ever before by the sponsoring franchisees. Rick spent significant time in demonstrations and discussion with the insurance agents. This helped to foster a bond between them and in the ability of Duraclean Services to respond to their needs.

Note: Following are photos of the activities over the two days of courses. At the end of the photos are Tim's and Rick's comments regarding their experiences.

Tim said that, "I just wrapped up handing out the completion certificates and the response has been great! Everyone seemed to really enjoy the content that was covered and the hands on demonstrations that were added. The exciting thing is the dozen of so agents that have never used us are saying now that they will refer us on future claims.

"One agent that attended the mold class said she receives a mold call at least once a month. She said she always felt uncomfortable with these calls because of being uneducated regarding the subject. Because of the class she feels much more confident fielding mold calls from her insured. In return, any call that she will need to have a company come in and investigate the situation she will call Duraclean."

Rick said, "Every day we strive to do things that differentiate Duraclean from the competition. Offering the CE Classes added instant credibility to our business. Just having the ability for the agents to see our offices, warehouse, and meet our staff made a large impact on those that may not have been all that familiar with our company. We are so pleased by the response that we are looking into offering additional classes this upcoming spring."

It was a great effort by the Crisses and their and their staff! Congratulations on a job well done.
